Ithaafushi is unusual in the Maldives for being a multi-island resort — the main island, a spa island and a dining island, linked by boardwalk. That layout means the restaurants and the spa are physically separate from where you sleep, which keeps the villas genuinely quiet. The Private Island, a three-bedroom estate with its own staff, pool and stretch of beach, is one of the few true buyouts within reach of Malé by speedboat.
