01 The short version
Cancellation terms are set by the resort, not by us, and on private islands they are strict — commonly 30 to 60 days before arrival, and considerably longer over Christmas and New Year.
Your exact terms are stated on your quote before you pay anything. We will not let you confirm a booking without seeing them.
02 Typical windows
As a guide, and always superseded by what your specific quote says:
- Outside the window: deposit usually refundable, minus any non-recoverable supplier costs.
- Inside the window: charges escalate, often to the full stay value.
- Peak festive periods: many properties are non-refundable from the moment of confirmation.
- Airfares follow the airline’s own rules and are frequently non-refundable regardless of the resort terms.
03 Our own fee
Where we have charged a planning fee it covers work already done and is not refundable. It is always disclosed up front, never buried in a total.
We do not charge a cancellation administration fee on top of supplier charges.
04 How to cancel
Email us as early as you can — the date we receive written notice is the date the supplier uses, and a single day can move you across a threshold.
We will confirm what has been cancelled, what has been recovered, and what remains payable, in writing.
05 Weather, cyclones and disruption
Tropical weather rarely triggers a refund on its own. Resorts stay open through rain, and a cyclone watch is not the same as a closure.
Where a supplier does close, cancels a transfer, or an airline cancels a flight, we pursue what is recoverable on your behalf at no charge.
This is precisely what travel insurance exists for, which is why we require it.
06 Insurance first
Before cancelling, check your policy. Medical reasons, bereavement and certain work situations are commonly covered, and a claim often recovers more than a supplier ever would.
We will provide whatever documentation your insurer asks for.
