01 Who we are
IslandCalling is a travel planning and booking service specialising in private island travel across the Maldives, Mauritius, Seychelles, Bora Bora, Palawan and Fiji.
We act as an agent between you and the resorts, airlines and transfer operators who ultimately provide your travel. Those suppliers have their own terms, which apply alongside these and which we will always put in front of you before you commit.
02 Quotes and pricing
We do not publish rates. Every quote is prepared against your specific dates, party, villa category and routing.
A quote is an offer to arrange the travel described in it, and it holds only for the period stated on it. Resort availability and airfares move constantly, so a quote that has expired may need to be re-priced — occasionally upward.
Quoted totals include everything named in them and nothing that is not. Where an item is excluded we will say so explicitly rather than leaving it unmentioned.
03 Confirming a booking
Nothing is held or booked until you confirm in writing and the required deposit has cleared. Until that point a quote is an estimate against live availability.
Deposit amounts and payment schedules vary by supplier, and are set out on your quote. Some properties require full prepayment for peak dates.
04 Changes
Ask us early. Most changes are possible; how much they cost depends entirely on the supplier and how close to travel you are.
Where a change triggers a supplier fee we pass it on at cost. We do not add a margin to amendments.
05 Passports, visas and health
You are responsible for holding valid travel documents. We will tell you what we believe is required, but requirements change and the final check is yours.
- Passports generally need six months validity beyond your return date.
- Several of these destinations issue visas on arrival for many nationalities — but not all.
- Some routings transit countries with their own transit visa rules.
06 Travel insurance
Travel insurance is a condition of booking with us. Island travel involves seaplanes, boat transfers and remote locations where a medical evacuation is expensive and a missed connection is not trivially rebooked.
Make sure your policy covers the activities you actually intend to do — diving in particular is commonly excluded or depth-limited.
07 Our responsibility
We are responsible for arranging your travel with reasonable skill and care, and for the accuracy of what we tell you.
We are not liable for the acts or omissions of suppliers, nor for events outside reasonable control — weather, cyclones, airline schedule changes, port or airport closures. This does not affect your statutory rights.
08 Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable at our place of business, and disputes are subject to those courts. Nothing here removes rights you hold under mandatory consumer law in your own country.
