JOALI commissioned artists from around the world to make work specifically for the island, so the art is site-specific rather than decorative — a manta-shaped sculpture you can walk into, a treehouse by Porky Hefer suspended in the palms. It is a resort with a strong point of view, and it suits people who find most luxury interiors interchangeable. The sister property JOALI BEING, on a neighbouring island, is a dedicated wellbeing retreat.
