Le Saint Géran has been the benchmark Mauritian resort for decades and its top-to-bottom refurbishment gave it a lighter, more contemporary feel without losing the setting, which is unmatched: a peninsula with a calm lagoon on one flank and open ocean on the other. The kids' club is one of the best in the Indian Ocean, and the tennis and water-sports programme is deep. La Table du Château is the fine-dining anchor.
